Mateo Walschburger was born in Bogotá, Colombia, where he studied a bachelor in architecture and minors in ‘Photography’,  ‘Art’ and ‘Cinema, Video & Animation’. He works as an architect in the foundation “Colectivo Cimbra” (of which he is a co-founder), a group of architects dedicated to pursue housing and urbanism projects of a social nature. In a parallel manner he works independently as a photographer and multimedia artist. His work and projects in these areas differ in nature and location, and range from documentary and editorial photographic series to music production and illustration. So far he has worked or developed projects in Uruguay, The United States, China, South Korea and Colombia, giving his work a diverse range of social and cultural backgrounds. This has allowed him to evolve in different directions in the fields that he currently works at, and to give his voice renewed means of expression.
